12 Days of Christmas | Good Regards Giveaway!

We're on the countdown now, but there's no slowing down! Day nine's giveaway is brought to you by our friends at Good Regards. The little sister of well known store The Good Room, this recent addition to the family became a necessity due to demand! Initially the one store was dedicated to providing both homewares and skateboards, but the decision to give them each their own 'rooms' has worked out well, with each store having their own space to flourish!

Good Regards came across my radar earlier this year, and since then it's been a handy online go-to for homewares and inspiration. The retail store is based in Mt Maunganui and is open seven days, so if you are in the area, make sure you stop by. You'll find the address, opening hours and directions here. Offering a fun and eclectic range of products, there are plenty of Christmas gift ideas.

Good Regards stock an amazing selection of Wall Stickers. I recently placed some in my son's room, and they look fantastic! Easy to use, and also great for renters, I highly recommend them as a way of brightening up your home. Perfect for kids spaces, there are lots of designs and colours to choose from.

Now for the best part! Good Regards are kindly giving away three packs of Wall Stickers, and each of the three winners get to choose from the full range.

To enter, email me at steve3star@gmail.com with GOOD REGARDS in the subject line and let me know your full name. Entries close on Friday, 13th of December and the three winners will be selected via random.org, and contacted via email to arrange their selection and shipping. All winners will be announced on the blog at the end of the series.

Please note that this competition is open to NZ residents only, and that we will do our best to ensure the prizes arrive prior to Christmas.

Update: This competition has now closed, and the winners have been notified. Thanks to all who entered, and huge thanks to Good Regards for their generosity.

12 Days of Christmas | Art Print Giveaways!

I hope you're enjoying your weekend. Thanks to those of you who are continuing to check in on the blog. You're certainly onto a good thing, as I have two more lovely giveaways for you today! Back in August I introduced you to Pencil and Hammer, an online art store here in Auckland specialising in typographic art and quirky illustrative prints. The collection is constantly growing, and these new black and white prints are among my current favourites.

To be in to win an A3 print of you choice, email me at steve3star@gmail.com with PENCIL AND HAMMER in the subject line, and let me know your full name. Please note that the print is unframed, and the offer excludes personalised ones. In addition to the giveaway, Pencil and Hammer are offering 10% off all prints, to worldwide readers from now through to the 31st of December 2013, along with free shipping New Zealand-wide. To redeem, enter dcchristmas at checkout. Shop the full collection here, and make sure you sign up to their newsletter to stay in the loop!

These next artworks from George Art are just delightful. Part of a project called Prints George, they have been lovingly created by Auckland mother of two and freelance graphic designer Georgia Williams. Featuring geometric alphabet letters in cute colour combos, layered with sweet little illustrations, I think they would be the perfect addition to any nursery. They would also make a very special Christmas or new baby present!

Signed and dated, the  8" x 10" (unframed) prints are available to purchase on Felt and Etsy. If you'd like to enter the draw to win on of these gorgeous prints in the letter of your choice, simply email me as above with GEORGE ART in the subject line.

Entries close on Wednesday, 11th of December and the winners will be selected via random.org, and contacted via email, so that we can arrange your choice of prints and shipping. All winners will be announced on the blog at the end of the series.

Please note that this competition is open to New Zealand residents only, and that we will do our best to ensure the prizes arrive prior to Christmas.

Update: These giveaways are now closed, and the winners have been notified. Thanks to everyone who entered and to both companies for their generous prizes!

12 Days of Christmas | Pop Motif Exclusive Reader Offer

Hello, I'm back with yet another exciting offer for Day two of the 12 Days of Christmas series! This one is from our friends at Pop Motif, a passionate team of art lovers who run an online art print store specialising in Vintage Poster Art, Pop Art, Urban Art and Contemporary Art Prints. Sourced from all around the globe, the collection includes some of today's most cutting-edge artists (see below), as well as some of the most legendary, such as Warhol and Picasso.

Diverse and affordable, the range of prints on offer are growing, and today I wanted to share with you a few recent additions that have caught my eye. The first two are from the acclaimed London-based graphic artist and illustrator Ruben Ireland. I find his monochrome pieces really captivating. One of my top picks, and featured on the blog before, you may recognise The Black Deer print from the Pop Motif from ad banner on the side of the blog. The second, Mrs Mia Wallace is also incredibly striking, and as with many of Ireland's artworks, it's the eyes that seem to draw me in.

These next prints are very special, in that they have been designed exclusively for Pop Motif by Los Angeles based illustrator Ryan Beshara. A bold accent piece for the kitchen or dining area, the Pear and Apple prints would also be a fun addition to any kid's room or nursery.

Other favourites of mine include the works by Kozyndan (seen in the collage below), and everything in the Fashion category! Shop online here, and make sure you take advantage of the following:

Pop Motif are offering The Design Chaser readers an exclusive 15% discount on all stock!

This promotion will be valid during the 12 days of Christmas series, so you have until Friday, the 13th of December (including that day) to take up the offer. Just enter TDC15 at checkout. Happy shopping!

12 Days of Christmas | Superette Giveaway!

The 12 Days of Christmas series got off to a flying start yesterday. Judging by the number of entries flooding my inbox, you're all as excited about this as I am! Today's giveaway is from our friends at Superette Home, and once again, I'm happy to tell you that it's open to worldwide readers!

As mentioned in my recent interview with Superette founder Rickie Dee, the Nuffield Street store in Newmarket was about to close down and undergo a huge transformation, to make way for Superette Space, the new lifestyle, homeware and furniture collection, launched earlier this year at the flagship Ponsonby store. Now reopened, and bigger and better than ever, I have some exclusive photos to share with you.

Talk about some serious eye candy. Perfect for Christmas shopping, it would be near impossible not to treat yourself to something while you're there!

The store is located at 35 Nuffield St, Newmarket. If you're outside of Auckland, remember you can also shop the range online.

And now for the bit you've all been waiting for! The fabulous prize includes one Framed Super Pretty Print and one Peach Triangle Pillowcase Pair, from the brand new Superette exclusive home range, valued at $218....

To enter, simply email me at steve3star@gmail.com with SUPERETTE in the subject line. Please also let me know your full name. Entries close on Friday, 6th of December and the winner will be selected via random.org, and contacted via email straight away. The winner will be announced on the blog at the end of the series.

Please note that this competition is open to worldwide readers, and that we will do our best to ensure the prize is shipped and delivered to the winner prior to Christmas.

Updtate: This competition has now closed, and the winner has been notified. Thanks to everyone who entered and big thanks to Superette for the gorgeous prize!

Black & White Prints | Friday Favourites

Yesterday I was working with one of my lovely clients, helping to get her home ready to put on the market. Home styling is a really important step to consider pre-sale, and I'm excited to be adding this Auckland-based service to TDC Style. If you or anyone you know is needing help in that area, please get in touch!

Another fun job I had recently was helping a client source some black and white prints for her home in Australia. Something that was right up my alley, it also led me to finding many more prints that I'd love to buy! Even if you're not as monochrome-mad as I am, a black and white print will mix in beautifully with colour, either on a picture wall, layered and leaning against a wall, on a shelf or hung solo. There are some standout posters that keep re-appearing in the gorgeous Scandi-style interiors that I'm constantly pinning, posting to Facebook, blogging about or adding to my moodboards. As such, I get a lot of readers asking where to buy them, so I thought I'd put those clear favourites into one post for easy reference.

The Andy Warhol posters are simple, bold and feature quirky phrases to add fun and whimsy to any interior. While they can be purchased from the Moderna Museet in Stockholm and Malmö, sadly they are not available online. If I ever have the pleasure of visiting Sweden, I will definitely be bringing home at least one, starting with the 'All Is Pretty' poster - my favourite!

I haven't yet acquired the Playtype G Poster that I put on my Home Build Living Room Wishlist earlier this year, but I will one day. Even though I go by my maiden name on the blog, my husband and kids' surname (and my married name) actually starts with a 'G' so I think this poster is a must for our family home! Take a look at the full range of Playtype Posters and shipping info here.

La Maison D'Anna G, a gorgeous online shop in France has a great range of posters, and they ship worldwide. As well as the Playtype G, and other Playtype Posters, Anna sells the beautiful range of black and white typography prints by Swedish designer Ylva Skarp who I wrote about here. I love both the Personality and Creativity posters, shown below.

Poster No Five is available from Wall Stuff in Sweden, but the good news is they ship worldwide. Judging by the fact that this is their best seller - I've also been asked on several occasions where to get it - five must be a popular number. My lucky number is eight, so I've got my eye on this one! You'll also find some cool number prints here.

Next up is the Cocoa Eyes Poster, featuring the Mazetti Ögon logo, by Swedish graphic designer Olle Eksell. Printed in 1999 for his exhibition at the Form Design Center in Malmö, Sweden, take a look here and here for some options on how to buy.

Bodie and Fou has a great selection of black and white prints. The Bat Girl Poster is another popular one. A cute idea for a girl's bedroom, it would add quirky fun to any room of the home.

Of course this is just the tip of the iceberg! Over time I've built up a good directory of places to source affordable online prints, so if you need help or advice, I'd love to hear from you. I hope you all have a lovely weekend. I'm hoping this glorious sunny weather in Auckland stays put!

Monday Mix Up

I hope you had a lovely weekend. Mine was pretty packed, but lots of fun. Our home was being photographed for an online magazine on Friday, following on from a really busy week, so today I'm playing catch up with a Monday Mix Up post.

If you follow a lot of Scandinavian blogs like I do, you may have come across 101 Karakters, a very cool competition running in the Netherlands. Legendary designer Piet Hein Eek designed a cabinet for Histor, and they called for people to submit ideas of how they would personally customise it, using Histor paint. From 2000 submissions, 101 were chosen and invited to Piet Hein Eek's workshop to create their designs.

The cabinet above shows how it looked prior to being painted, by Desiree of Vosges Paris. Her finished cabinet and impeccably cool styling below, makes it one of my favourites. Black paint, leather handles and studded corners gives it Desiree's signature edgy vibe and the rock 'n' roll feel she wanted.

Here is another customised design I came across via Bloesem that I really love. It was created by Maaike from My Deer, a company that specialises in branding, interior design and styling,

True to Maaike's lovely clean design aesthetic, she has left the cabinet bare, apart from the white dipped legs, and then artfully applied simple yet striking black typography. Her gorgeous styling sets it off perfectly.

In keeping with the monochrome theme, I thought I'd leave you with a couple of moodboards curated from my Pinterest boards. You may have seen this one last Friday on my Facebook page or Instagram...

And for today, I thought I'd kick-start the week with some positive thinking and a bit of sparkle...
